Where is my progress saved?
In your browser, on this device. The game keeps it in your browser’s local storage and never sends it to us, so we can’t see it or restore it for you.
How do I keep my progress?
Play in the same browser on the same device, and not in a private or incognito window, which doesn’t keep it. Clearing your browser’s data for neonmeadows.com deletes it. Progress doesn’t move between browsers or devices, because there are no accounts. In Safari, come back at least once a week: Safari can clear the saved data of sites you haven’t visited in 7 days.
How do I start over?
Open Settings in the game and choose “Start over”. It deletes your progress on this device and can’t be undone. It keeps your age answer and sound settings; to delete those too, clear neonmeadows.com’s data in your browser settings.
Does my time away count?
Yes. When you come back, the time you were away counts, up to 36 hours.
What is the mini-strip?
A way to keep your dancer on screen while you work. In Chrome, Edge and recent versions of Firefox on a computer, it’s a small window that floats on top of your other windows (a browser feature called Document Picture-in-Picture). In other desktop browsers, such as Safari on a Mac, the page turns into a slim strip you can shrink and park at the edge of your screen. It isn’t available on phones and tablets, or when the game runs inside another website, such as itch.io.
How do I turn the sound on, or dance to my own music?
Use the ♪ button in the game. Then choose what your dancer follows: “Our beat”, made in your browser; “Your music”, songs from this device, which stay on your device and are never uploaded or saved; or “Tap the beat”, when you tap along with music you’re playing elsewhere. The volume is in Settings, and the game remembers your sound settings.
Which songs can I use?
Audio files on your device that your browser can play. Streaming apps can’t be connected; for music playing anywhere else, choose “Tap the beat” and tap along. Only use music you have the right to play.
Is my music uploaded?
No. Your songs never leave your device: the game finds their beat in your browser, doesn’t save them or keep their names, and forgets the list when you close the page.
The dancer is off the beat. What do I do?
Tap along to the beat to bring it back in sync. Bluetooth headphones add a small delay, which the game corrects for.
Sound on iPhone
On iPhone, only the volume buttons change a song’s volume; the game’s volume slider controls its own beat and sounds. The silent switch mutes the game’s beat, while your songs keep playing, as in any music app.
Why does the game ask when I was born?
The age screen asks for a month and year so the game can set age-appropriate features. Only an age range is kept, on this device. Your birth date is never stored or sent.
Do I need an account? Does it cost anything?
No and no. There are no accounts, no purchases and no ads.
